Kayseri lies about 1,050 metres above sea level and has a continental climate. Winters are cold and snowy; summers are hot by day and cool at night. Keep the season and your Erciyes plans in mind when you pack.
For winter and skiing
- A warm coat, hat, scarf and gloves
- Thermal underwear and wool socks
- Ski goggles and sunscreen (the sun reflected off the snow is strong)
- Boots with non-slip soles
If you don’t have ski equipment, there is no need to bring it: our reception arranges ski rental and a shuttle to Erciyes through partner companies.
For summer
- Light, comfortable clothes for the daytime
- A cardigan or light jacket for cool evenings
- A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
- A light windproof jacket if you are taking the cable car up Erciyes
In every season
- Comfortable walking shoes for exploring the city
- ID card or passport
- A phone charger and, if needed, a plug adapter (Turkey uses type F sockets and 230 V)
- Any medication you take regularly
